| About the Artist Nancy Gean's paintings come from her love for Israel and the Middle East. Just recently God has been moving Gean into painting in the prophetic. She paints as she feels led. Sometimes it is a painting for a special person who needs validation and encouragement and sometimes it is a message for the whole group. Gean has many experiences to draw on as she paints. She and her husband Bob who is a Lt. Col. in the US Army, and their now grown 5 children have lived all over the world. Gean lived in Cairo, Egypt 6 months a year from 1998 - 2000. But it was only when she returned from her first visit to Israel that Gean's mother told her of her Jewish great-grandmother who had kept her Jewish heritage a secret since she arrived from Russia in the late 1800's. Her name was Lakia Levy and she changed it to Chambers which was the name of the family she was living with at the time. It was then that Gean understood where her great love for Israel and the Jews came from...she was born with that love. All of her paintings have a Jewish symbol in them and sometimes it takes a while to find it. It is her prayer that all people who love Israel will "PRAY FOR THE PEACE OF JERUSALEM." |
